About the Surrey Vaisakhi Parade

The Sikh community in Surrey has hosted the Vaisakhi Parade for the past 25 years. Attendees of all races and cultures are welcome at this celebratory and rich cultural event, which features a large number of floats, community performers and live music.

If you are attending, we encourage you to bring head coverings to respect the religious aspect of the event while enjoying the amazing free food, drink, and entertainment from hundreds of local residents and businesses.

About Vaisakhi

Every April, millions of Sikhs world-wide celebrate Vaisakhi.

Vaisakhi is aa time for the celebration of harvesting the crops with food and festivities but also marks the day that established the Khalsa order by Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji (10th Sikh Guru) in 1699.

This day is considered one of the most important days in the Sikh calendar, seeing many Nagar Kirtans (community religious parades) celebrations in Sikh communities around the world.
