Dollar-Thrifty and Hertz YVR – Bargaining Update #2
March 5, 2026
To: All MoveUP members at Dollar-Thrifty and Hertz YVR
Your bargaining committee has now met three times on January 28, 2026, February 19, 2026, and March 4, 2026, we have discussed a number of non-monetary proposals.
As previously mentioned, we signed off three proposals on February 19, 2026:
- job stewards and union representation
- shared commitment on fair and reasonable approach to employer rights
- housekeeping and clarifications to the grievance procedure
Your committee has continued to have frank, productive discussions with the employer, and while we did not sign off anything at the March 4, 2026 session, we are close on a number of items and hope to do so at our next session on Tuesday, March 10, 2026.
The Tuesday, March 10, 2026 session will be held in person at the MoveUP offices along with another in-person session on Wednesday, March 11, 2026.
It is likely that the union and the employer will table their respective monetary proposals on March 10, 2026.
In summary the future dates are as follows:
March 10-11, 2026 [in person]
March 24-25, 2026 [in person or via MS Teams to be determined]
