BC Hydro & Powertech – Bargaining Update # 7 – 2026 Bargaining Dates

January 20, 2026

To: All MoveUP members at BCH & Powertech

Your Bargaining Committee began the new year on January 6 by reviewing an unusually large number of proposals tabled by your employer, BC Hydro. Many of these proposals would significantly change existing provisions of your collective agreement and confirms a clear shift toward concessions rather than improvements.

In contrast, your Union has tabled proposals focused squarely on strengthening and improving your collective agreement. These proposals reflect members’ priorities, which includes improvements to benefits, job selection, education & training, time off, flexibility to work from home and most importantly your wages. This reflects our mandate from you to protect your hard-fought rights achieved from many years of collective bargaining before us.  We will not move backwards.

The Union and the employer have confirmed the following additional bargaining dates:
• February 23, 24, and 25
• March 31 and April 1
• April 27 and 28
• May 5, 6, and 7

Please note that these dates are subject to change if necessary.

Your Bargaining Committee remains firm and united. We will not agree to concessions and remain fully committed to negotiating a fair and equitable collective agreement that reflects the value of your work and the contributions you make every day.

In solidarity,

Anderson Charles, Executive Board Member
Kim McInroy, Executive Board Member
Andrea McKenna, Executive Board Member
Kelly Cammack, Executive Councillor
Carol Brown, Executive Councillor
Luc Vail, Executive Councillor
Mike Novak, Union Representative
Rysa Kronebusch, Vice President, Utilities
