Environment Committee Co-chair submissions and Environment Course Development
September 19, 2025
To: All Environment Committee Members
Thank you to those that were able to join the meeting last night. Please read this bulletin in its entirety because it contains time sensitive action items and information.
We have had one person put their name forward for co-chair (thank you Timo!). Reminder that if anyone else would like to put their name forward, you have until the end of the day on Friday, September 26, 2025 to email me (alyguile@gmail.com) to let me know. If no one else puts their name forward by then, Timo will be our suggested appointment as co-chair to the president. If anyone else does put their name forward, then we will have the co-chair election at our October regular meeting on October 16, 2025.
I announced at the meeting last night that our “Sustainability and Solidarity” course has been approved for development! We must have a facilitator manual, a participant manual, any handouts, PowerPoint slides (if needed) and an agenda submitted to the education committee by the end of November. As discussed last night, we will build a sub-committee to develop this curriculum. This sub-committee will receive book-offs to develop the curriculum and build course materials, and be asked to update the committee through the progression of building the course. If you are interested in joining this sub-committee, please email me (alyguile@gmail.com) by Wednesday September 24, 2025. The first sub-committee meeting will be on Thursday October 2 at 6 p.m. If you are joining the sub-committee, please try your best to attend that first meeting (not mandatory but strongly encouraged). This sub-committee will be working hard over the next few months, and many hands make for light work!
Please click here to RSVP for the sub-committee meeting on October 2, 2025. The link for the meeting will be sent to you.
If you have any questions please let me know, and please make sure to follow the deadlines above to let me know if you want to participate in the sub-committee or run for cochair.
Thanks all!
Alycia Guile,
Chair, Environment Committee
