Beem Credit Union – We’re Taking a Stand on Wage Placement

May 2, 2025

To: All MoveUP members at Beem Credit Union

Dear BEEM members,

You’ve waited patiently — and we want you to know we’ve been hard at work behind the scenes.

Since our last update in February, we’ve been consulting with legal experts to figure out the fastest and strongest way to challenge the employer’s wage placement decisions. After reviewing all the facts, we’ve decided to take this fight to arbitration.

That means a neutral third-party arbitrator will hear the case and make a ruling based on the facts and our collective agreement. And here’s the good news: we believe we have a solid case.

Under Article 18, we’ve filed a policy grievance — this happens when there’s a serious disagreement about how the contract is being applied. If the employer refuses to settle it during our upcoming Stage 3 hearing, we’ll move forward to arbitration without hesitation.

This isn’t just about numbers on a pay grid — it’s about fairness, respect, and holding the employer accountable.

We know how frustrating this has been. You deserve clarity and consistency, and we’re fighting to get it. The employer has scheduled a stage 3 meeting with the union for May 28th, 2025. We’ll keep you updated every step of the way.

In solidarity,
Ronnie Ho, Union Representative
