BCRCC Membership Meeting – March 19

To: All MoveUP members at BC Regional Council of Carpenters
We are calling a membership meeting to discuss the state of bargaining on Wednesday, March 19, 2025.
As indicated in our bulletin to you back in December, the employer cancelled bargaining on Monday, December 2, 2024, and cancelled bargaining scheduled for Tuesday, December 3, 2024.
The employer has insisted on maintaining almost all concessions except for a change to the member self-pay proposal for unpaid leaves of absence.
None of their other proposals were withdrawn despite the union telling the employer the union and its members were adamantly opposed to these concessions.
The employer subsequently applied for mediation at the Labour Relations Board despite our opposition to these concessions forming part of the next collective agreement.
The union agreed to mediation in the hopes of moving bargaining along with the mediator’s assistance.
Mediation dates are set for April 7, and April 10, 2025.
It is VERY IMPORTANT that you attend this meeting, if at all possible, to discuss the upcoming mediation and next steps.
Vice-President Christy Slusarenko will be in attendance to take questions about strike votes and the job action process, and union supports in the event of a strike.
