MacLure’s Cabs – Employer Notice – Layoff Dispatch

To: All MoveUP members at MacLure's Cabs
On February 21, 2025, your employer provided notice to your union that it intends to layoff Dispatch employees effective May 1, 2025. You may view the notice received here.
Pursuant to section 54 of the Labour Relations Code of British Columbia, your employer and union are required to engage in good faith discussions, endeavoring to develop an adjustment plan which may include provisions respecting any of the following:
- Consideration for alternatives to layoff
- Amending the terms of the collective agreement
- Human resources planning and employee counselling and retraining
- Severance pay
- Entitlement to pension and retirement benefits
- A bipartite process for overseeing the implementation of the adjustment plan
We understand this is unfortunate news and we will work with your employer to provide affected employees with support and information relevant to your concerns and will be further communicating directly with affected employees soon.
