Are you thinking to yourself “next year I should shake it up a bit” want to do something different, get more involved, help people.
Are you ready to play a vital role in ensuring the rights and interests of your coworkers? We are looking for dedicated individuals to step up and become Job Stewards in our workplaces. This is a unique opportunity to make a difference and be the voice of your fellow members.
What is a Job Steward?
A Job Steward is an essential position within our union, acting as the first line of support for fellow workers. Stewards help uphold the union contract, ensure fair treatment, and advocate for workplace fairness.
Responsibilities of a Job Steward:
- Represent members: Address concerns and grievances and represent coworkers in discussions with management.
- Enforce the contract: Ensure that all terms of the union contract are respected and followed.
- Support members: Provide guidance on workplace issues, including safety, working conditions, and discipline.
- Communicate: Relay important updates from union leadership to members and vice versa.
- Be a leader: Take initiative in addressing issues and fostering a strong union presence.
