Notice of By-Election –Fortis BC- Executive Councillor #1540-#1541 (1 position available)

To: MoveUP members employed at FortisBC in EC areas #1540 to #1541
(EC areas #1540 to # 1541 are members employed at FortisBC Customer Service Centre at Kelowna Springfield, Prince George Contract Centre, Trail Esplanade and Trail Highway.) (EC #1541 is vacant).
Term Ending: April 30, 2026
Due to the resignation of Zachary Chipman and in accordance with the constitution, we are running a by-election for the above councillor position. Duties of the executive council are detailed in article 7.4 of the constitution.
As an executive councillor in your workplace, you are the spokesperson for your union. You are a vital link between the membership and the elected leadership. You, along with other job stewards, speak for your fellow members in the day-to-day relations between our union and management. In addition, you attend five executive council meetings a year where you can participate in the direction and decision making of your union. You can find more detailed information on your role in the Executive Councillor Handbook which is available on the resources page for stewards and councillors of our website.
Nomination deadline is 4:30 p.m. PT on Monday, January 6, 2025.
