ICBC – Insurance Institute of BC (IIBC) Membership Renewals

To: All MoveUP Members at ICBC
It has come to the union’s attention that your employer has had a change in past practice with respect to IIBC membership renewals. It is our understanding that in the past, your employer has renewed memberships on an annual basis for all employees with an IIBC Membership, such as a Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation. Membership with the IIBC is mandatory in order to maintain your designation.
For those of you with a CIP designation that requires the membership renewal, you must now renew your membership and pay the annual fee individually and then submit for reimbursement through ESS.
The employer informed employees about this change in their June 26 edition of “People News” however it was in the fourth section of that update and many may not have noticed it.
