The Reach Gallery Museum – Join the Joint Occupational Health & Safety Committee (JOHSC)

To: All MoveUP members at TRGM
The Union is seeking volunteers to join the Joint Occupational Health & Safety Committee (JOHSC). When our members at the Reach joined MoveUP, safety initiatives were identified as a high priority for members, and thus robust health and safety language was included in the first collective agreement. As per Article 16.03, the committee shall consist of two (2) of union representatives and two (2) employer representatives.
The JOHSC Committee will meet quarterly and make recommendations that correct unsafe and unhealthy work environments. As part of the duties you may conduct worksite inspections and participate in any investigations or inquiries of the workplace.
It is not necessary to hold previous knowledge or experience in health and safety and all time associated with attending and completing duties of the JOHSC will be paid by your employer.
