BC Hydro – Consent and Release of Personal Medical Information Forms

To: All MoveUP members at BC Hydro and Powertech
BC Hydro has provided your union with revised versions of their consent and release of personal medical information forms. The purpose of these forms is to acquire your approval for disclosure of medical information to BC Hydro for workplace purposes.
Your union is currently vetting these changes, and will determine if they are acceptable, and if they properly address medical privacy rights. We ask that you refrain from signing these authorizations until such time as we confirm that they are appropriate in these circumstances.
If you have any immediate questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to your union representative. Once we have a position on this issue, we will communicate it to you via another bulletin.
