FortisBC Bargaining Update #5
December 8, 2023
To: All MoveUP members at FortisBC
We write to inform you that your bargaining committee met with your employer on December 6 and 7, 2023.
During these two days the parties mainly focused on working through a list of topics that the employer has brought to the table for discussion. Depending on the outcome of these conversations, they may or may not result in additional, related proposals. These conversations have been useful in that we are gradually gaining clearer understanding of each other’s concerns and priorities in this bargaining round.
The parties have not confirmed future bargaining dates at this time as we are canvassing the availability of our committees in the new year, but it is likely that negotiations will resume in January of 2024 and further dates will be set as required.
How you can support your bargaining committee
At this time, we ask that our members keep an eye out for bulletins and any other communications that may be coming out. Should we need further assistance, we will communicate that to you as the situation changes.
