BCNU – Tentative Agreement Reached

To: All MoveUP members at BCNU
We are pleased to announce that a tentative agreement has been reached with your employer. Your bargaining committee was able to obtain a fair and reasonable tentative agreement with the employer.
Some of the highlights include:
- 5 year term from January 1, 2023 to December 31, 2027.
- Wage increase of 6.75% for 2023, 2% and an additional GWI of up to 1% in accordance with COLA for 2024 and then 2% and anything greater to the NBA negotiated increases for 2025, 2026 and 2027.
- Signing bonus of $7500 for Regular employees
- Long Service Recognition pay of $1.00 per hour at ten (10) years service, $1.50 per hour at fifteen (15) years service and $3.00 per hour at twenty (20) years service.
- Retirement bonus of $5000 for employees who retire from the BCNU with fifteen (15) years of service and are sixty (60) years of age or greater.
- Increased Life Insurance coverage from $60,000 to $125,000.
We have scheduled a ratification meeting for your bargaining team to review and discuss the Memorandum of Agreement, and answer any questions you may have. Upon conclusion of this meeting, you will be able to vote through the Member Portal.

To vote, simply log in to the member portal and you will see the option to vote on the screen. If you are having difficulty signing in to the member portal, please email membership@moveuptogether.ca. If you haven’t already registered for your account, you will need your membership number and home email address and then click here. If you do not know your membership number please complete the attached membership number form and you will receive a response within one business day. If you are not registered on the member portal prior to the vote opening you will not be eligible to vote.

Voting opens: Monday, December 4, 2023 at 2 p.m.
Voting closes: Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at 2 p.m.
