Bargaining
CapilanoU – Bargaining Update #7
February 2, 2023
To: All MoveUP Members at CapilanoU
We are writing to you today to provide you an update on bargaining.
Your bargaining committee met with the employer today, and the employer tabled a proposal that we felt was antithetical to good faith bargaining. It seemed the intention of the proposal was to reverse previous progress between the parties thus far and inflame relations at the table.
Your union was clear with the employer that such incendiary actions were not agreeable, and respectfully but firmly asked the employer to withdraw their position so that the parties may reach a collective agreement without further unnecessary delay.
Your bargaining committee has given the employer until end of day Friday to withdraw or amend their position.
We’ll keep you posted, and we appreciate your ongoing support and solidarity.
