Nimbus School of Recording and Media Bargaining Update

We are writing to you today to provide an update on the status of bargaining with your Employer.
On January 11th, the Parties “mutually agreed” to enter into mediation discussions with the Labour Relations Board.
On January 11th, a Section 55 application was put forward at the BCLRB to have a mediator appointed to attempt to facilitate the finalization of a collective agreement. We received notice on January 12th from the Associate Chair that the Board would be appointing Mediator Fazal Bhimji.
We’ve reminded Mr. Bhimji of the previous Board interventions in regards to the Employer’s violation of the BC Labour Relation Code (you can read more about it here, here and here) to ensure he is aware of the context in preparation for the mediation.
Your bargaining committee will be meeting with the mediator directly to discuss next steps on January 25th, 2023.
We will be holding a membership meeting the next day to go over the discussions, answer any questions you may have regarding bargaining so far and the mediation process, and discuss the outstanding issues at the table. The meeting will be held over Zoom, here are the details :
