NOTICE OF BY-ELECTION – Executive Councillor Area #1220

To: All MoveUP Members in this EC Area
EC Area #1220 represents members employed at BC Hydro at Burrard SC Station, Central Park 7th Floor, Coquitlam Lineroom, Coquitlam Office, Glenlyon Burnaby, Horne Payne Office, Horne Payne Sub Burnaby, Meridian Substation and Squamish DO.
Term Ending: April 30, 2023
In accordance with the constitution, we are running a by-election for the above councillor position. Duties of the executive council are detailed in article 7.4 of the constitution.
As an executive councillor in your workplace, you are the spokesperson for your union. You are a vital link between the membership and the elected leadership. You, along with other job stewards, speak for your fellow members in the day to day relations between our union and management. In addition, you attend five executive council meetings a year where you can participate in the direction and decision making of your union. You can find more detailed information on your role in the Executive Councillor Handbook, which is available on the resources page for stewards and councillors of our website.
KATE ISRAELYAN has submitted a nomination form for the above position. If there are no other nominations received by 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 9, 2022, Kate Israelyan will be declared the successful candidate.
