NOTICE OF BY-ELECTION – Executive Councillor Areas #1620 – #1621

To: All MoveUP members in EC Areas #1620-#1621
EC Areas #1620 and #1621 represents members employed with ICBC at Vancouver Kingsway Claims, Vancouver Point Grey DSC, Vancouver East Driver Licensing Office, Vancouver Records Retention, Vancouver Nelson Room 800 – 808-Legal Spec Counsel, Vancouver Royal DL Centre
There are two at-large positions in these EC areas. One of these councillor positions is currently filled.
Term Ending: April 30, 2023
In accordance with the constitution, we are running a by-election for the above councillor position. Duties of the executive council are detailed in article 7.4 of the constitution.
As an executive councillor in your workplace, you are the spokesperson for your union. You are a vital link between the membership and the elected leadership. You, along with other job stewards, speak for your fellow members in the day to day relations between our union and management. In addition, you attend five executive council meetings a year where you can participate in the direction and decision making of your union. You can find more detailed information on your role in the Executive Councillor Handbook, which is available on the resources page for stewards and councillors of our website.
MARIO LOPEZ, Out-of-Area, has submitted a nomination form for the above position. If there are no other nominations received by 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 21, 2022, Mario Lopez will be declared the successful candidate.
