Bargaining
BC Transit – Bargaining 2022 – Survey
March 3, 2022
To: All MoveUP members at BC Transit
Your current collective agreement expires on March 31,2022. This collective agreement will remain in effect until a new collective agreement has been bargained and ratified by both parties.
Please complete the on-line survey that will be sent to you in a separate bulletin to your home email address. If you do not have your home email on file with the union, please contact Lisa Jeffery and provide a home email for her to send the survey to you. By completing this survey prior to the deadline of Wednesday, March 16, you will assist your bargaining committee in addressing the areas of the collective agreement that are a concern to you and/or you feel need updating.
As mentioned, your bargaining committee will use the surveys to determine priorities when developing proposals for bargaining. When filling out the survey feel free to only comment on subjects that concern you. We do accept incomplete homework. For example, if you do not have an opinion on the overtime provisions in the collective bargaining agreement then there is no point in making a suggestion about changes. It is very rare for members to have opinions on all the items addressed in the survey and there is nothing wrong with that. We use the surveys to establish priorities. The process works much more efficiently when members help us to identify priorities by hitting on their key areas of concern.
Thank you in advance for your participation and we will be updating you with our progress along the course of negotiations.
In solidarity,
Shawn Lakusta
Union Representative
