Orange t-shirts to mark National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on Sept. 30
September 3, 2021
To: MoveUP job stewards, executive councillors & executive board members
Our union is committed to doing our part to advance the spirit of truth and reconciliation with Indigenous peoples.
The discovery of mass graves at residential school sites across Canada this year did not come as a shock for those who know our country’s dark history and reprehensible treatment of Indigenous peoples and communities, especially those who lived through the experience and are survivors of the residential school system.
This year, to mark what has been previously known as Orange Shirt Day but also the new federal statutory holiday – National Day for Truth and Reconciliation – our union has purchased orange shirts to distribute to our job stewards, executive councillors, and executive board members.
To order a t-shirt and to view sizing information, please click here and submit your order by Friday, September 10.
Once the deadline has passed, we will sort the number of requests and will respond to you with information on how to pick-up your t-shirt.
If you have any questions, please contact Kat at kprinz@moveuptogether.ca.
