Job Steward Seminar Update

To: All MoveUP Job Stewards, Executive Councillors and Executive Board Members
Dear Job Steward Seminar attendees,
As we have seen a recent rise in the numbers of COVID-19 cases in our province, we have sadly decided to cancel our 2020 Job Steward Seminar.
We have already signed a contract with the Harrison Hotsprings Resort for March 4-7, 2021, hoping we will be able to hold an in-person seminar. As you have already registered, you will be given first consideration to attend. Again holding the seminar is dependent on the Public Health authority’s guidelines in place at that time. Please save the dates in your calendars to ensure your schedules will still allow you to join us.
The Education Committee wishes to thank everyone for your continued understanding and patience as we weighed all the factors before coming to this decision, which we felt was in the best interest of our members and staff’s health and safety.
Our committee will be meeting on September 10, 2020, to discuss course options that we could provide through the online platforms after the success of our JS 1 sessions this summer. If you have suggestions or ideas for courses, please reach out to your unit Vice President.
