Konica Minolta – Response to Salary Increase Deferral

To All MoveUP Members at Konica Minolta
On April 2, 2020, the employer approached your union about delaying your salary increase. The employer stated that economic hardship and uncertainty made them decide to delay any type of salary adjustments within the organization; they would re-consider in July 2020, based on how the global economy is at the time. Although the employer may be able to make such a decision for non-union employees, delaying salary increases under a collective agreement requires the agreement of your union. We immediately reached out to obtain further clarifications and requested their 2019/2020 profit plan.
Your union has now received the requested information. We will examine the financial records to determine whether a delay in the negotiated increase is truly necessary for the operation of the company and that your salary adjustment can be given to you as early as possible.
