BC Hydro – MoveUP supports BC Hydro United Way Campaign 2019
October 25, 2019
To: All MoveUP Members at BCH
It’s that time again!!
MoveUP members have always supported BC Hydro’s United Way campaign and we are again this year.
BC Hydro’s goal of $500,000 is achievable. Last year, this target was surpassed. This year, along with the target of $500,000, we would like to increase participation by over 25%. We also believe this is an achievable target.
As an employee with BC Hydro, I know firsthand how generous our membership is when thinking of those in need or those who are less fortunate.
Your donations to the United Way campaign helped to improve the lives of over 400,000 people last year alone.
45,000+ children thrive in United Way-funded after-school programs, including 31 United Way School’s Out programs and Community School Partnerships, which provided almost 2,000 more out-of-school time programs.
United Way’s Better at Home program partners with local non-profit organizations to provide seniors with non-medical home support, light housekeeping, social activities and even grocery shopping.
Social isolation can be as dangerous for seniors as smoking or obesity. A contribution of just $10 per paycheck gives vulnerable seniors access to a welcoming and inclusive space to make friends.
Help Anderson Charles, your United Way representative, to reach this initiative of increasing participation and together we can surpass last year’s donations.
Thank you all for your support. Together, we can all make a difference in the lives of others!
In Solidarity,
Rysa Kronebusch
