BC Hydro – 2019 United Way Employee Giving Campaign
October 24, 2019
To: All MoveUP Members at BCH and Powertech
Hi All,
Welcome to BC Hydro’s 2019 United Way Employee Giving Campaign. My name is Anderson Charles and, for the third year, I have the pleasure of being your MoveUP representative for BC Hydro’s United Way campaign.
MoveUP is a strong supporter of United Way and is partnered again with IBEW Local 258, BC Hydro, and BC Hydro’s Power Pioneers to support this campaign.
BC Hydro’s 2019 United Way Employee Giving Campaign started October 9th and runs until November 8th. The total campaign goal this is year is $500,000 with MoveUP setting a goal of $95,000 for its members. Last year, MoveUp members donated a total of $83,606 and for this campaign we are currently at $48,000 through the first nine days.
The 2019 campaign theme is once again “Give together. Give locally. Give where it matters”. This message resonates loudly as, within all areas of our province, help is greatly needed for so many young children, families and vulnerable seniors.
Since 2012, via this workplace campaign, you have helped raised over $3.7 million dollars to help improve thousands of lives in communities across our province. Your donations help children to have a safe and nurturing environment after school, fund programs for seniors to shed isolation, and help families to receive the support needed for success. The dollars raised in your community goes to improve lives there. All of this is possible thanks to donors like you.
You should have received your personal ePledge link; it will detail how to give this year. There are many options to give such as a gift of time, payroll deductions or a one-time gift.
As well, donors do have the option of directing or designating their donations to another registered Canadian charity. BC Hydro will cover the $16 designation fee during the campaign. To learn more about ways to give please search for “How to Give” in Hydroweb or ask a campaign volunteer.
More information on this year’s campaign, a list of events or campaign volunteer sign up can be found under the campaign’s site via Hydroweb.
Let’s have the best campaign possible from our members this year!
In Solidarity,
Anderson Charles
Executive Board Member/MoveUP United Way Campaign Representative
