Your bargaining committee met with representatives of the employer on December 3 & 4, 2018 to commence collective bargaining. The parties each presented a set of proposals that constituted a complete collective agreement. Both the employers and our proposals were predominantly based on the Penticton collective agreement with some modifications and additions. We also had proposed combining both bargaining units into one bargaining unit, however, the employer was not agreeable to this. Despite that, we had productive negotiations and reached agreement on many proposals over the two days but did not get into monetary items and still remain in disagreement on more substantive items.
We have set upcoming bargaining dates for January 3, 4, 31 and February 1, 2019. We are pleased that Sterling Singh has also been stepped forward to be an alternate bargaining committee member
