MoveUP – Convention Call 2018

The MoveUP convention will be taking place from Thursday, November 1 to Saturday, November 3, 2018 at the Hyatt Regency – Vancouver. Convention is the supreme governing body of your union, and delegates to convention elect your vice presidents.
The theme for this year’s convention is “Working Together: Every Voice Makes Us Stronger”.
Packages will be mailed to your workplace and will include detailed information, the delegate entitlement for your executive council area, as well as the expression of interest form. The delegate entitlement sheet indicates how many members from your executive council area are able to attend, as well as a list of who all of the job stewards and executive councillors are for that area. Due to the nature of these lists, that information is only being mailed out in the packages to the executive councillors. If there are no executive councillors for your area, it will be sent to a job steward.
All executive councillors are automatic primary delegates to convention but still must register by completing the expression of interest form indicating whether you are able to attend.
If you are interested in attending convention, completed expression of interest forms must be received at the union office by 4:30pm on Friday, August 31, 2018. Rules governing the number of delegates for convention can be found in the MoveUP Constitution. Information on eligibility and representation is in the expression of interest form, attached here.
