NOTICE OF BY-ELECTION – Executive Councillor Area #1617
July 19, 2018
To: All MoveUP members at ICBC EC area # 1617
EC Area #1617 represents members employed at ICBC at Burnaby Collision Repair Learning Centre, Burnaby Dsc, Burnaby Metrotown Expressway, Burnaby Warehouse/Records Centre and Claims Document Capture Facility.
Term Ending: April 30, 2020
In accordance with the constitution, we are running a by-election for the above councillor position. Duties of the executive council are detailed in article 7.4 of the constitution.
As an executive councillor in your workplace, you are the spokesperson for your union. You are a vital link between the membership and the elected leadership. You, along with other job stewards, speak for your fellow members in the day to day relations between our union and management. In addition, you attend five executive council meetings a year where you can participate in the direction and decision making of your union.
BRENDA CHU (out of area) has submitted a nomination form for the above position. If there are no other nominations received by 4:30 pm on Friday, August 3, 2018, Brenda Chu will be declared the successful candidate.
