TransLink – Request to release medical information

To: All members at TransLink
It has been brought to the attention of your union that the employer, specifically the Occupational Health Manager has requested written consent from some employees to give the employer permission to contact their physicians directly regarding personal medical information.
These requests by the employer have been made without consultation or agreement from your union.
If you are asked to sign documentation that allows your employer to contact your physician directly please contact your Job Steward or Union Representative immediately to report this prior to signing these documents.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding this matter or have been asked to sign these documents, please contact your Job Steward or Union Representative directly.
