MoveUP Mourns Passing of Peter Corren, Member and Gay Rights Activist

Peter and Murray CorrenMoveUP mourns the passing of Peter Corren, former TransLink job steward and human rights activist.

With his husband Murray, Peter was at the forefront of the fight for gay rights in Canada. Their court challenges helped ensure rights for gay couples adopting children, led to the legalization of equal marriage and the inclusion of human rights material and curricula in BC’s public schools.

Peter died on December 30, 2009 after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was 62 years old. Our thoughts and well wishes go to his husband and their son, Brent.
