Unanimous Strike Vote from MoveUP Members at Hertz

MoveUP members employed at Hertz Rental Cars cast their ballots today unanimously in favour of strike action. Hertz is seeking a round of concessions at the bargaining table which would decrease job security and offload work-related costs onto their employees. Hertz proposed a zero percent wage increase in the first year despite landing a lucrative ICBC contract and positive financial projections from senior executives.

MoveUP thanks our members at Hertz for their overwhelming mandate.

The Employer has applied to the Labour Relations Board for a Mediator to be appointed to assist in bargaining. While the mediator is involved, there can be no lock-out or strike action. Your bargaining committee will keep you up to date.

Hertz is one of the largest car rental companies in the world and has operated for 80 years. MoveUP has represented employees at Hertz Canada since 1969.
