Information on Repatriation for ABSBC Stewards

To: All MoveUP Job Stewards and Executive Councillors at Accenture Business Services
You will by now have read our bulletin about BC Hydro bringing the work it outsourced to Accenture Business Services BC (ABSBC) back into the utility.
We’re enthusiastic about this decision and the opportunities it represents for our members. It’s the right move for our members at ABSBC and BC Hydro, and for the overall health and stability of the utility.
There are many details to work through over the next year before operations move back to BC Hydro on May 1, 2018. As certain as we are this is a positive move, we acknowledge the uncertainty this introduces into your working lives. We will be working on the details with BC Hydro and ABSBC, and sharing the information with you as more information is available. We will have our own FAQ up on our website early next week, and encourage you to check BC Hydro’s information site.
We will also need your help. You are our deepest, best connection in the workplace. We need you to share with us what you’re hearing. We want to hear from our members’ reactions to the repatriation, share our story of how this happened and answer questions. And we need to encourage your colleagues to attend the upcoming in-person meetings we’re holding for ABSBC and BC Hydro members.
We will be equipping you with information you need. Our first steward meeting will take place at the MoveUP Job Stewards Seminar at 4:45 pm this Friday. The meeting will include both ABSBC and BC Hydro stewards.
