Youth Action Committee – Vancouver & District Labour Council 2025 Labour Education Sessions – September to November 2025

The Youth Action Committee is pleased to announce the continuation of our partnership with the Vancouver & District Labour Council to provide educational opportunities for our young workers. We encourage all members to review the offered courses and apply below.

All costs to attend including registration, travel accommodations (for members that are from outside the lower mainland), as well as any lost wages will be reimbursed as per the  MoveUP expense policy.

Deadline to register is Friday, August 8^th at 4:30pm (for Kat, if we get the bulliten out on 28July2025) 

The co-chairs will select members based on the thoughtfulness of answers provided in the survey. We will look to have diverse representation from equity seeking groups and include all MoveUP bargaining units. We will also designate a spot for a member from outside the Lower Mainland to ensure our commitment to engaging members from all communities.

• Job Selection & Promotions – IN PERSON at the Maritime Labour Centre October 7, Tuesday – 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• Effective Grievances – IN PERSON at Maritime Labour Centre October 16, Thursday – 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• Human Rights – IN PERSON at Maritime Labour Centre October 21, Tuesday – 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• Psychological Injuries – Zoom Video Conference October 27, Monday – 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
• Understanding the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) – via Zoom November 7, Friday – 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
