Dear members,
I’m writing with some important and positive news this morning. Thanks to your solidarity, your strength, and your unity, we have successfully stopped the layoffs that were going to take effect on May 1.
This is a huge step forward — and it would not have been possible without all of you standing together and standing strong. Your support has made a real difference, and it shows what we can achieve when we stick together.
While this is a major win, our work is not finished yet. We are continuing discussions with your employer, and we remain committed to reaching a long-term agreement that protects your rights and strengthens your future.

Finally, I want to take a moment to acknowledge the tragic events that occurred on Saturday during the Lapu Lapu Festival in Vancouver. Many of you live and work in the area where this heartbreaking event took place.
