Victoria Shipyards – Benefits Update

To: All MoveUP members at Victoria Shipyards
MoveUP has recently become aware of a change to your health and welfare plan and we want to make sure that you are also aware.
While McAteer is still the benefits administrator for your health and welfare plans, we were recently informed that a change to your provider was made on January 1, 2026. As of January 1, 2026, GreenShield Canada is now your benefits provider for almost everything, except for your Out of Province Emergency Medical Assistance. Your Out of Province Emergency Medical Assistance is now being administered by the Boilermaker’s National Health Plan (Canada). I understand that there may be people who did not receive a letter from the Boilermakers office informing you of this change or the change to GreenShield. If you did not receive this information, you can find a copy of that here.
To be clear, your benefit entitlements are not changing, nor is your pension.
