Vancouver Shipyards – Tentative Agreement Reached

To: All MoveUP members at Vancouver Shipyards
Your bargaining committee is pleased to announce that we have reached a tentative agreement with your employer, Vancouver Shipyards.
We will be holding an in-person meeting, along with the other Poly-Party members on Saturday, July 27, 2024 to explain the tentative agreement with you and answer any questions you may have. Details of the meeting will be sent out as soon as they’re confirmed. In the meantime, you can view the full Memorandum of Agreement here.
Highlights of the memorandum include:
- First Aid premium of $2.00 per hour
- Increased shift differential for afternoon and graveyard
- Double-time and a day off when working on a statutory holiday
- Clarification on call-out procedure for Security Guards
- Inclusion of National Day for Truth and Reconciliation
- Expedited payroll correction process
- Wage increases as follows, with full retroactivity:
- March 1, 2023 – 7%
- March 1, 2024 – 7%
- March 1, 2025 – 5%
- March 1, 2026 – 4% with COLA up to 5%
- March 1, 2027 – 3% with COLA up to 5%
As we did with the strike vote, MoveUP members will be voting online. Voting will open on Saturday, July 27 at 10:00am and close at 2:00pm.

Your bargaining committee is strongly recommending ratification of the tentative agreement.
