Union Wins at Labour Relations Board

To: All Occupational Health & Safety Officers and Corporate Safety Assistants at CMBC
Recently your union made written submissions and attended a hearing at the Labour Relations Board regarding our submission that the Safety Management System Analyst position was improperly excluded from the MoveUP bargaining unit.
We are pleased to announce that we have recently received the decision of Vice-Chair Leah Terai. In her decision, the Vice-Chair upholds the union’s submission and agrees that the Safety Management System Analyst is an employee for the purposes of the Labour Relations Code. A copy of the full decision is attached here for your reference.
We will be contacting the employer to discuss the implementation of this decision. Thank you all for your patience and support throughout this process.
