Notice of By-Election – Nominations Open – Executive Councillor Areas #1601 – #1613

To: All Members at ICBC EC Areas #1601-#1613
EC Areas #1601 – #1613 represents members employed at ICBC at Head Office 151 W Esplanade, 132 W Esplanade, 171 W Esplanade, 221 W Esplanade.
There are thirteen (13) at-large positions in these EC areas. Eleven (11) of these councillor positions are currently filled.
Term Ending: April 30, 2023
In accordance with the constitution, we are running a by-election for the above councillor positions.
As an executive councillor in your workplace, you are the spokesperson for your union. You are a vital link between the membership and the elected leadership. You, along with other job stewards, speak for your fellow members in the day to day relations between our union and management. In addition, you attend five executive council meetings a year where you can participate in the direction and decision making of your union. You can find more detailed information on your role in the Executive Councillor Handbook which is available on the resources page for stewards and councillors of our website.
Crystal Mason and Kamal Naraina have both submitted a nomination form for the above vacant positions. If there are no other nominations received by 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, Crystal Mason and Kamal Naraina will both be declared successful candidates.
