Notice of By-Election – Nominations Open – Executive Councillor Areas #1531 – #1533

To: All MoveUP Members working in EC Areas #1531-#1533
EC Areas #1531 – #1533 represents members employed at FortisBC Energy Inc. at Surrey Education, Surrey Roebuck Muster, Surrey SO, Surrey SO2, Surrey SO3, Surrey SO4.
There are three at-large positions in these EC areas. Two of these councillor positions are currently filled.
Term Ending: April 30, 2023
Due to the resignation of Lucia Chan and in accordance with the constitution, we are running a by-election for the above councillor position.
As an executive councillor in your workplace, you are the spokesperson for your union. You are a vital link between the membership and the elected leadership. You, along with other job stewards, speak for your fellow members in the day to day relations between our union and management. In addition, you attend five executive council meetings a year where you can participate in the direction and decision making of your union. You can find more detailed information on your role in the Executive Councillor Handbook which is available on the resources page for stewards and councillors of our website.
