Nanaimo, Duncan & District Labour Council endorses Joanna Lord for City Council

The Nanaimo, Duncan & District Labour Council has endorsed Joanna Lord for city councillor in the upcoming by-election.
Election day is Saturday, April 12, 2025, and advance voting dates are April 2 & 8.
Joanna is an experienced educator having previously worked as a teacher in the Cowichan Valley School District and at Vancouver Island University. She is also an elected labour leader with the BCGEU and has been an advocate for childcare, affordable housing, and a clean environment. Learn more about Joanna here.
Election day takes place Saturday, April 12 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the locations listed below.
- Municipal Hall, 7030 Trans-Canada Highway
- Chemainus Firehall, 9901 Chemainus Road, Chemainus
- Crofton Firehall, 1681 Robert Street, Crofton
- Maple Bay Firehall, 1230 Maple Bay Road, North Cowichan
- Cowichan Community Centre – Multi-Purpose Hall, 2687 James Street, North Cowichan
Advance voting opportunities are available from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 2 and Tuesday, April 8 at the North Cowichan Municipal Hall (8030 Trans-Canada Highway).
