MoveUP survey on sexual harassment and gender-based discrimination in the workplace

August 5, 2025

To: All MoveUP members

We will be sending a short, confidential survey to you August 6, 2025, to gather experiences related to sexual harassment and gender-based discrimination in the workplace.

The survey is conducted anonymously and confidentially and will be open until Friday, August 29.

As a thank you for participating, all members who complete the survey will be entered into a random draw to win one of four Save-on-Foods gift cards.

The survey will come directly from our survey partners at Stratcom and will be sent to your personal email address. Please ensure that you add invite@survey.stratresearch.ca to your safe senders list to ensure you get the survey. Please watch your personal email address this week for the member survey. Make sure to check your spam and promotion folders as well.

Note that your invite to the survey is unique. Do not forward the email you receive from Stratcom as it is unique to you and the survey link cannot be used more than once. If it is more convenient for you, you can complete the survey in multiple sessions across multiple devices (desktop, laptop, tablet, smartphone). Just click on the link again and the survey will resume where you left off.

If you do not receive an invitation to participate Monday, August 11, please email surveys@stratresearch.ca.

Thank you in advance for your participation.

Why we are doing this survey

At our 2024 MoveUP Convention, delegates passed a resolution to create a survey for our members to share their experiences at work related to sexual advances, discrimination, and intimidation.

This important initiative stems from our collective recognition that some of our members have faced these serious issues in the workplace. The survey aims to better understand the extent and nature of these experiences so that we can take meaningful action to address them.

As over 60% of MoveUP’s membership are non-male, though many work in traditionally male-dominated industries, our primary purpose of this survey is to understand the experiences of those who identify as non-male. However, the survey is open to all our members so we can learn about the experiences of all our members.

Next steps with the survey data

At the conclusion of the survey, we will carefully analyze the data collected. We will form a dedicated working group to explore meaningful, informed strategies to address these serious issues in our workplaces.

Your input is helping us build safer, more respectful, and inclusive work environments for all members. We look forward to sharing more updates as this important work progresses.

In solidarity,

Rysa Kronebusch
