Make your voice heard: Renters’ roundtable on the future of the Broadway Subway
March 16, 2021
To: MoveUP Members in Vancouver
The City of Vancouver is inviting renters to take part in a series of virtual roundtables to talk about the impact of the future Broadway Subway that goes through Mount Pleasant, Fairview, and Kitsilano.
Among the topics that will be discussed include the creation of new rental housing, protecting existing secure rental housing, renter protections, and mitigating displacement impact.
We encourage all our members who are renters in the City of Vancouver, specifically living in these areas, to take part in this engagement that will help form the city’s 30-year area plan looking to integrate housing, jobs and amenities around the future Broadway Subway.
The sessions are open to all, and not limited to renters who live in the area. 59 percent of households who live in Broadway are renters, and 25 percent of the existing city-wide purpose-built rental stock is located in these neighbourhoods.
All events will take place from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
