Ladysmith & District Credit Union – Bargaining Update #2 – Tentative Agreement Reached

Your bargaining committee is pleased to advise that we met with your Employer on October 8, 2025, and have reached a tentative agreement, subject to membership ratification.  Your bargaining committee recommends ratification of this agreement.

Highlights of the 4-year deal includes, but are not limited to:

– Wage increases over the term:

YEAR TERM GROUP 1-2 GROUP 3-6
1 June 30, 2025 – July 1, 2026 6.25% 8.25%
2 June 30, 2026 – July 1, 2027 3% 3%
3 June 30, 2027 – July 1, 2028 3% 3%
4 June 30, 2028 – July 1, 2029 3% 3%

– Elimination of the restriction that limit vacation days taken as single-day increments
– Increased vacation entitlements
– Updated and improved language on Letter of Understanding #2
– Updated and improved language on Severance Pay
– Updated and improved language on Vacation Scheduling
– New language on Bereavement Leave
– New language on Duty to Accommodate
– New language on Inclement Weather Leave
– New language on Compassionate Care Leave

A ratification meeting will be held at LDCU main branch (300 First Avenue, Ladysmith BC) this Thursday, October 16, 2025 from 5:30pm to 6:30pm where the details of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) will be shared. You may also view the MOA in advance of the meeting here. An in-person ballot vote will take effect immediately after the meeting from 6:30pm to 7:30pm.  Your presence and vote on Thursday is strongly recommended.
