Bargaining
Kelowna Cabs – Bargaining Update #5
April 22, 2021
To: All MoveUP members at Kelowna Cabs
Your union recently sent out a press release (Kelowna Cabs’ attempt to union bust fails – MoveUP (moveuptogether.ca)) after receiving a decision in the latest Labour Relations Board case regarding the certain employee decertification application. Although we are pleased that we were successful in all legal proceedings, your union recognizes turmoil and stress you must be experiencing since the original layoff attempt by Kelowna Cabs in April 2020.
Your union is here for you, if you decide you are ready to participate in small job action assignments, we, your union will be able to pay you your regular net wages during this difficult time. As union members you have each paid union dues into our defense fund, which is meant for times just like this, to ensure our union members are not going without income during any labour dispute. Should you have any question, please do not hesitate to contact myself or your Vice President Christy Slusarenko via telephone or email.
In Solidarity,
Anny Chen, Union Representative
Christy Slusarenko, Vice President, Combined Units
