Are you interested in running for a local government office in 2022 in your community but want to know more about what’s involved?
The Canadian Labour Congress and the Winch Institute are hosting a workshop for potential candidates on June 22 at 7 p.m. PT.
This 90-minute Zoom session is for anyone who might be considering running for council, school board, or a regional district board and will feature a panel discussion with current and former councillors and trustees, regional breakdown groups and expert instruction.
The panelists for the June 22 session include Darryl Walker (Mayor of White Rock, former BCGEU president), Willow Reichelt (Chilliwack School Board Chair), and Angela Girard (North Vancouver City Councillor).
This workshop is part of a series of campaign workshops and community forums leading up to the 2022 local government elections. It will focus on the reasons to run for public office, the work of elected officials, and what you need to start doing now in order to win in 2022.
Space is limited. You will be notified if you are accepted. Click here to apply.
