ICBC – Workload Coordinator Role Update

To: All ICBC members in Advanced Support & Recovery Specialist, Benefit Analyst, Benefit Support Coordinator, Claims Adjuster, Claims Adjusters Commercial, Claims Document Support Assistant, Claims Examiners Commercial, Claims Specialist, Claims Support Assistant, Customer Claims Specialist, Customer Service Adjuster, Estimator, Paralegal, Senior Claims Specialist, Senior Support & Recovery Specialist, Support & Recovery Specialist, Vehicle Settlement Representative roles and all ICBC JS/EC/EB
Please be advised Missy Besanger will be stepping into the role of our Workload Coordinator as per Letter of Understanding (LOU) #18. Missy is an Auto Claims Specialist II who works out of the Cranbrook Claims Office. She has been a Job Steward since 2018, the chair of our ongoing Claim Adjuster/Claim Adjuster Commercial (Auto Claims Specialist II/Senior Auto Claims Specialist) workload committee, as well as one of Focal Point Stewards for our Auto Claims Model group.
As the Workload Coordinator, Missy will be organizing our workload complaints and committees. Currently, we have active committees for our Claim Adjuster/Claim Adjuster Commercial (Auto Claims Specialist II/Senior Auto Claims Specialist), Senior Support and Recovery Specialist, and Estimators. She will be working with our members on each committee to ensure we move forward by addressing workload issues in each respective job profile. Missy will work closely with Union Representative Sara Colliss in this appointment.

I would like to thank Herbert Magana for his incredible work over the last year as the outgoing Workload Coordinator. Herbert was essential in getting all the ongoing workload complaints filed and organized. Herbert brought militancy, passion, and a grassroots approach that helped move this important work forward. Herbert will be taking over Missy’s spot on the Claim Adjuster/Claim Adjuster Commercial (Auto Claims Specialist II/Senior Auto Claims Specialist) workload committee.
We will continue to push ahead with the workload challenges we face at ICBC and communicate the progress of each committee to the respective job profiles.
