ICBC – UPDATE: Prioritized Hiring Agreement Reached
January 6, 2026
All MoveUP Members at ICBC in non-LOU 34 Claims Legal Services roles and all ICBC JS/EC/EB
Your union is pleased to report that we have negotiated a prioritized hiring agreement for those in Claims Legal Services not covered by LOU #34, excluding Senior Claims Specialists.
Following months of negotiation, MoveUP and ICBC have reached an agreement that will allow members in Claims Legal Services to be prioritized when ICBC has job postings for specified roles. We thank everyone for your continued patience as we worked to negotiate this agreement with your employer.
Highlights of the agreement include:
- 6 targeted positions are identified for potential prioritized hiring, including:
- Claims Contact Representative
- Auto Claims Specialist I
- Benefit Support Coordinator
- Customer Contact Representative II
- Client Service Representative
- Customer Contact Representative II – Driver Licensing
- Remains in effect until March 31, 2026, and could be extended to May 29, 2026
- Selection will be based on knowledge, skills and ability for the posted position
Please review the full agreement here. Postings will be dependent on business needs and are not guaranteed. If you intend to continue your career with ICBC, it is recommended that you apply for the positions you want when they are posted.
A key aspect of this agreement is ensuring that both active members and those on various leaves (excluding LTD) can apply for these potential positions. To support this, ICBC will post any available positions on their external careers site: https://careers.icbc.com. If you are interested in these opportunities, please monitor this site regularly.
Please note: if you have already moved into another position outside of Claims Legal Services, including transfers into Enhanced Care or Claims Injury Corporate Legal (CICL), this agreement does not apply to you.
Please do not hesitate to contact Senior Union Representative Trevor Hansen with any questions you have.
In solidarity,
Trevor Hansen, Senior Union Representative
Dimitri Ossinsky, Vice-President, ICBC
