Bargaining
ICBC – Post-event survey for Monday’s telephone town hall
April 30, 2020
To: All MoveUP ICBC members
Thank you to all those who joined us this past Monday for our telephone town hall to discuss issues related to the ongoing bargaining with ICBC.
We appreciate that so many of you took the time out of your evening to be engaged with us and to ask some very thoughtful questions during the call.
As we will be holding more calls and virtual sessions in the future, we are asking for our members to provide feedback after these meetings. Whether you took part this time or not, we want to hear from you about webinars and telephone town halls so please take the time to fill out our survey by clicking here.
Some of you may still be receiving emails to your ICBC.com addresses regarding that telephone town hall. Our staff looked into this and we believe that it may be due to the recent throttling of server traffic on ICBC’s end to manage capacity. It appears this is causing delays for our mailing system to be able to deliver these emails. Our system sent out the email on Monday, at 1:54 p.m. on April 27.
With system problems likes these, you can see why it is so important that you ensure your personal email is up to date on our Member Portal. We want to make sure these emails get to you in a timely fashion in the face of possible future technical issues like this.
Some of you have also asked if we are able to make a recording of the telephone town hall available. Due to the sensitive nature of bargaining, we will not be making the call available. We encourage you to talk to your job stewards or other members who were on the call to get an update on what was discussed. The input we received from members will guide our work at the bargaining table and be reflected in future bulletins.
We thank you again for your involvement, your passion, and your solidarity.
As the bargaining process continues, please feel free to reach out to us at icbcbarg@moveuptogether.ca if you have any questions.
In solidarity,
Annette Toth, Vice-President, ICBC unit
Kevin Smyth, Senior Union Representative
