ICBC – IMPORTANT UPDATE: Voluntary Severance Agreements Reached

January 5, 2026

To: All MoveUP Members at ICBC in Claims Legal Services roles and all ICBC JS/EC/EB

Your union is pleased to report that we have negotiated voluntary severance for members in Claims Legal Services.

Following months of negotiation, MoveUP and ICBC have reached agreements that will allow members in Claims Legal Service to voluntarily elect to receive severance and resign from ICBC.

There are two separate agreements:

  • For those covered by LOU #34 (Claims Specialists and Customer Claims Specialists)
  • For those in Claims Legal Services whose positions are not mentioned in LOU #34, excluding Senior Claims Specialists

Highlights of both agreements include:

  • 52 weeks maximum severance if you have completed 15 or more years of service
  • Once offered, you will have 3 weeks to decide if severance is right for you
  • Severance will be granted by seniority

Please read the agreement that pertains to you by clicking on the links below.

For those covered by LOU #34: Claims Specialists and Customer Claims Specialists, click here.

For those not covered by LOU #34: Claims Support Assistant, Administrative Assistant – Litigation, Legal Assistant – Litigation, Legal Billing Representative, Litigation Systems Support Assistant, Paralegal, Reporting Analyst, Mail Delivery Clerk, (excluding Senior Claims Specialists), click here.

Please note: if you have already moved into another position outside of Claims Legal Services, including transfers into Enhanced Care or Claims Injury Corporate Legal (CICL), these agreements do not apply to you.

We will be holding a Zoom webinar to review these agreements and answer any questions you may have on Thursday, January 8 at 7 p.m. Please look for a further bulletin inviting you to this meeting coming later this week.

Thank you for your patience as we worked to negotiate these agreements with your employer. We look forward to discussing them with you later this week.

In solidarity,

Trevor Hansen, Senior Union Representative
Dimitri Ossinsky, Vice-President, ICBC
