June 17, 2025
To: All MoveUP Members at ICBC in Claims Support Assistant, Administrative Assistant – Litigation, Legal Assistant – Litigation, Legal Billing Representative, Litigation Systems Support Assistant, Mail Delivery Clerk, Paralegal, Reporting Analyst, Senior Claims Specialist, Claims Specialists, Supervisor Legal Recovery Unit roles
ICBC has announced changes to the Claims Legal Services division. MoveUP is working to protect your rights, support your choices, and provide answers during this transition.
Earlier today, ICBC leadership met with members of the Claims Legal Services division to discuss the status of the department and its future. We understand this creates uncertainty for many of our members. MoveUP is committed to providing you with timely updates and support as more details become available.
Over the coming weeks and months, MoveUP will be in discussions with ICBC to ensure your rights are protected. We are focused on creating clear pathways for those who want to continue their careers at ICBC, as well as for those who may be exploring other options.
If you are a Claim Specialist, please note that Letter of Understanding (LOU #34) remains in place. It guarantees your transition to Enhanced Care.
We will be hosting a Zoom meeting in the coming weeks to provide more information and answer your questions. Watch your email for an invitation. In the meantime, please ensure your contact information is up to date in the MoveUP Member Portal.
We are deeply grateful for the work your division has done for ICBC and for the people of British Columbia, especially since Enhanced Care began in 2021. We know this is a difficult time. Our goal is to provide clarity so you can make informed decisions about your future.
If you need support, the Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP) is available. You also have access to mental health services through your extended benefits plan.
We will continue to consult with affected members and advocate strongly on your behalf in all conversations with ICBC.
