ICBC granted Common Site Order at GCC
September 5, 2025
To: MoveUP Members at ICBC GCC and Guildford DLO
*This bulletin contains information accurate as of the time of writing. We encourage you to check your email frequently for updates on this situation.*Â
ICBC has been granted their common site order at the Guildford Corporate Centre (GCC) with regards to the ongoing strike for both members of the BCGEU and PEA.Â
This means, effective immediately, MoveUP members and the public will be permitted to access ICBC offices and the DLO using the prescribed entrances. As the prescribed entrances are no longer picketed, you will be required to report to work at the GCC if requested. This will not constitute crossing a picket line as long as you only use the prescribed entrances.Â
Here is what you need to know:Â
- The picket line remains in effect at the main entrance. DO NOT USE THIS ENTRANCE TO ACCESS THE BUILDING. THIS IS STILL AN ACTIVE PICKET LINE.Â
- You may access the building through the back beige doors which lead directly into the lobby, and the DLO entrance. The driveway entrance will also be open.Â
- DO NOT PARK IN THE GCC UNDERGROUND. THIS IS STILL BEING ACTIVELY PICKETED.Â
- DO NOT PARK AT THE SHERATON VANCOUVER GUILDFORD parking lot/garage. UNIFOR is currently on strike against this employer, and we must support their picket line as well.Â
We also understand that there will be no picket lines present at all over the weekend (September 6-7) at this location but may return on Monday. Â
Please continue to respect the BCGEU/PEA picket line and only access your work site through the prescribed entrances. If you find a picket line continues to block access to those entrances, then contact your job steward or union representative and inform your supervisor.Â
If you have the time and ability, we encourage you to visit the workers who are on the picket line to offer your solidarity and support on behalf of MoveUP.Â
